Quesnel

Groceries, restaurants, fuel and the Riverfront Trail loop where the Quesnel and Fraser rivers meet. In July, Billy Barker Days fills the town with music, a rodeo and fireworks.

Barkerville Historic Town & Park

The real deal: a preserved gold-rush town with costumed interpreters, stagecoach rides and gold panning. Worth a full day, easily done from your site here.

Quesnel is about 15 minutes up the highway — close enough that a town run is easy, far enough that you sleep under trees, not streetlights.

Walk the 1929 footbridge — the longest wooden-truss walking bridge in the world — then follow the flat, easy Riverfront Trail along both rivers.

Quesnel also has the full road-trip lineup — grocery stores, fuel and familiar drive-thrus along the highway. Hours change with the seasons, so it's worth a quick check before you drive in.

We're the natural overnight on Hwy 97: about 1 hr 20 from Prince George, 1 hr 15 from Williams Lake, and an honest day's drive from the Lower Mainland. Pull off, plug in, sleep well, keep rolling.
